At its Galaxy Unpacked 2019 event, Samsung showed off its first mainstream foldable phone in the United States. Starting at $1,980, the phone will be available in the US starting in April.
Interesting technology involving a folding screen and another single screen in one device was announced at Samsung Unpacked 2019 in Wednesday February 20, 2019 in San Francisco.
The Galaxy Fold has two OLED screens. The first screen is a 4.8-inch AMOLED display that would be used like a smartphone, and a 7.3-inch AMOLED display, which Samsung calls an Infinity Flex that would be used like a tablet. The device is expected to call about $2000.
The device received criticism from The Verge writer Vlad Savov, saying that a consumer could “get the fanciest of iPhones and a really good iPad” for less than the price of a Galaxy Fold.
