Arlington Heights police will host an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the Village of Arlington Heights Police Station, 200 East Sigwalt Street.
Visitors will be able to participate in a tour of the new police station with police department staff available to answer questions. Light refreshments will be served.
Police officially opened the new police station on Saturday morning December 22, 2018. The new $27.9 million station, built between Village Hall and Fire Station 1 on the same site as the previous police headquarters built in the 1970s. The new 2-story, 70,500-square-foot building features an indoor parking garage for active beat police vehicles, improved office area design, additional interview rooms, training areas, a shooting simulator, a wider and deeper firing range, a fitness center, evidence intake room, a new jail, and more. The facility has improved security, featuring the front lobby and welcoming front meeting area that is closed off and secured from the operational areas in the rest of the police station.
An Open House for village officials was held Monday evening December 17, 2018. Former Mayor Arlene Mulder and former Village Manager Bill Dixon were also invited, honoring their work to set the stage for the planning of a new police station.
