Illinois State Police, Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:55 PM Monday February 18, 2019 to a report of a person hit by a vehicle and knocked of Biesterfield Bridge over Route 53 near 42.003416, -88.026936 (Route 53 and Biesterfield Rd Elk Grove Village, IL). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a man was hit by a car, and fell to Route 53 below.
Police and firefighter/paramedics located the man in an area under the bridge or just north of the bridge by an embankment near the southbound lanes of Route 53. The first crew on arrival report the man was “ambulatory,” but needed help getting off the embankment.

Route 53 did not appear to be congested from the incident, but Biesterfield Road appeared to be congested for a short time.
