Naperville police responded about 11:12 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 to a parking lot near the intersection of Ridgeland Avenue and Naperville/Wheaton Road in northeast Naperville to the report of a robbery that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, responding officers learned that the victim had arranged online to meet the offender to sell an item of high value. Upon meeting, however, the offender implied he had a weapon, grabbed the item and fled the scene on foot. No weapon was ever displayed and no one was injured during this incident.
The offender is described as a male/white (Hispanic descent), early 20’s, approximately 5’6”-5’7” tall, approximately 165-175 lbs., with an athletic build and medium-length black hair.

The Naperville Police Department encourages the public to utilize the Naperville Police Department as a safe location to meet and complete transactions that began online. The department’s front lobby is available for this purpose Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. When the lobby is closed, the public is encouraged to use the department’s front parking lot, which is well-lit, monitored with video recording, and has access to an emergency telephone.
