Areas along Interstate 88 and north of I-88 have the best chance for light accumulations of snow ranging from a dusting to one inch. Snow will probably start accumulating after 3:00 a.m., but there will probably not even be 0.5 inch accumulation by noon Tuesday. Snow is forecast to continue all the way to about 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. Total accumulation will likely be about 0.8 inch about 6:00 a.m. Wednesday when a little freezing rain might mix in for the Wednesday morning rush hour.
The air will feel raw Tuesday with 13 to 15 mph gusts and a wind chill as low as 0°F about 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows a diminish area of snowfall over Lake County and Lake Michigan, and a little snow getting started just west of Rockford at 7:50 p.m. Snow will eventually develop along the Illinois-Wisconsin border and spread south.
