The Waukegan Police Department responded about 3:02 a.m. Sunday February 3, 2019 to a report of a large fight at a duplex home at 2242 Western Avenue.
Waukegan police officers on arrival discovered several people running and yelling in the area, and found blood inside the home and in the street. Police learned that two men walked into a nearby hospital with severe stab wounds, and one of the men died as a result of stab wounds.
Investigators learned that the stabbings occurred during the fight at a party at the home.
Police released that a 28-year-old Waukegan man died at the hospital, a 29-year-old Waukegan man survived his stab wounds. His condition was not initially released.
The case is under investigation and no suspects have been charged. An autopsy of the 28-year-old man is scheduled Tuesday April 7, 2019 by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
