Aurora Police responded about 12:30 a.m. Sunday February 17, 2019 to a report of a shooting in the block of 400 East Park Avenue. Police on arrival found a male victim, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, sitting in a vehicle parked in a driveway in a residential neighborhood just east of downtown Aurora.
Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a hospital in Aurora, where he underwent surgery and continues to be treated, according to Aurora Police Department. The male victim, listed in critical condition, is an 18 year-old resident of Montgomery — a suburb just southwest of Aurora.
Initially there was no description of a suspect, but it appears that whoever shot the man, approached the vehicle on foot, and then opened fire.
Aurora police are urging any citizens with information about the case to call the investigations unit at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Phone tips to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
