The identity of the Libertyville man struck by a Libertyville snowplow was released Tuesday January 30, 2019 by the Lake County coroner’s office. Don Anderson of the block of 600 Bridle Court Libertyville was killed when he was hit by a snowplow in the roadway in front of his house about 9:50 a.m. Monday January 29, 2019.
An autopsy revealed Donald Anderson, age 75, suffered multiple injuries when he was hit by the municipal plow, the Lake County coroner’s office said in a news release.
Neighbors said Anderson was on the edge of his driveway with the snowblower when the snow plow truck hit him. Police and firefighter/paramedics were immediately dispatched the scene. Don Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The snowplow truck was a full-size dump truck type vehicle.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and the coroner’s office is investigating the death.
According to a news release from the Village of Libertyville yesterday, the plow driver was placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
Bridle Court is a 260-ft street with a cul-de-sac in southeast Libertyville in a residential neighborhood, east of Milwaukee Avenue between Greggs Parkway and Golf Road.
