Naperville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:05 AM Saturday January 19, 2019 to a report of an apartment fire at 799 Royal St George Dr Naperville, Il. Firefighters initially responded to an Activated Fire Alarm at a 7-story apartment building. Firefighter/paramedics on the scene reported a fire in the basement and on the top floor of the apartment building.
Naperville fire command activated a MABAS Division 16 Box Alarm on Box #9 by 7:47 a.m. The extra alarm was elevated to the Second Level at 8:17 a.m. Extra fire equipment and crews from neighboring communities were staged at a strip mall at Royal St George and Ogden Avenue.
Naperville Fire Command reported at 8:06 a.m. they are fighting a fire in the basement and a fire on the top floor.
Naperville Fire Command reported at 8:32 a.m. that the fire was under control, and that at that time there were no fire victims or EMS patients reported. No official confirmation, but it is believed that the entire building was evacuated of residents.
