Des Plaines police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:42 PM Thursday November 1, 2018 to a report of a Pace Bus rear-ended by another vehicle at Elmhurst Road and Oakton Street Des Plaines, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that several people were injured in the crash.
Police were first on the scene and reported the crash was in a westbound lane of Oakton Street west of Elmhurst Road.
An EMS Plan 1 by 12:47 p.m. on orders of Des Plaines Fire Department Battalion Chief 61. Engine 63 on arrival reported they’re westbound west of intersection with a Pace Bus and one vehicle, occupying one lane.
Engine 63 reported at least four patients may be transported by 12:50 pm. Four ambulances were immediately dispatched, and a fifth and sixth ambulance were requested by 12:54 pm.
Des Plaines Ambulance 63 transported one patient to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
Rosemont Ambulance 168 transported one patient to Resurrection Hospital in Chicago
Elk Grove Village Ambulance 8 transported on patient to Alexian Brothers Medical Center.
North Maine FPD Ambulance 1 transported one patient to Advocate Lutheran General by 1:18 p.m.
