FOUR SHOT: 2 VICTIMS DEAD AT MERCY HOSPITAL, CPD POLICE OFFICER KILLED, SHOOTER DEAD
ABC 7 Chicago: Two people were killed, including the gunman, at Mercy Hospital.
Chicago police and Chicago Fire Department firefighters and paramedics responded about 3:20 PM Monday November 19, 2018 to a report of a person shot in the Emergency Room parking lot at Mercy Hospital, 2520 South Prairie Avenue Chicago, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a woman was shot in the parking lot. Police on arrival called out an Active Shooter Incident about 3:24 p.m.

Police were surrounding Mercy Hospital as an EMS Plan 1 was activated for the Active Shooter Incident.
CFD Deputy District Chief 2-1-5 reports that victims are being worked on in the west parking lot. There was also a report that an officer was shot in the east lobby of the hospital.
Fire command reported the incident was NOT secure as of 3:38 p.m. An EMS Plan 2 was requested at 3:39 p.m., bringing about 10 ambulances to the scene. A Still and Box Alarm, bringing extra fire personnel was requested at 3:42 p.m. An EMS Plan 3 was requested, bringing another 5 ambulances, was but was secured shortly after it was activated.
Ambulances were staged at 26th Street and Michigan Avenue, and patients were brought from the scene to staging. An injured police officer underwent extensive treatment inside the hospital before being transported by Chicago Fire Department ambulance to the Level I Trauma Center at University of Chicago.
Chicago Fire Department Ambulance 41 and Ambulance 19 were in the perimeter. Ambulance 41 transported the injured police officer to University of Chicago’s Level I Trauma Center.
