Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 1:15 a.m. Saturday October 13, 2018 to a report of a traffic crash with injuries in the block of 39200 Route 45, Lake Villa Township. Deputies arrived and located a 2003 Dodge Caravan with extensive damage and an ejected driver.
The driver with serious injuries was transported by firefighter/paramedics to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Preliminary investigation shows the driver, a 43-year-old Union Grove, Wisconsin man was traveling southbound on Route 45 north of Grass Lake Road. For an unknown reason the driver crossed into the northbound lanes of traffic, drove off the east side of the roadway, and into a ditch. The Dodge rolled over and the driver was ejected.
A crash investigation is underway. Crash investigators are also working to determine whether alcohol was a factor.
