The best chance for enjoyment of the weather today will be around 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. when today’s high will be rising to reach the day’s high temperature of about 56°F at 9:00 p.m. There’s rain possible today from about 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Gusty winds are expected most of Friday and Saturday, peaking about 31 MPH from the southwest at 3:00 p.m. Friday and peaking about 37 MPH about 1:00 p.m. Saturday. We’re about to feel the effects of two cold fronts, which will keep temperatures below normal (normal high 62°F). The first cold front will arrive about midnight Friday/Saturday, and the stronger second cold front will arrive about 10:00 a.m. Saturday beginning the drop from Saturday’s high temperature of 48°F to 37°F by 10:00 p.m. Currently the normal low is 42°F, usually about 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. The low early Sunday morning could touch the upper 20s. Below normal temperatures are expected to continue at least until Thursday.
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows showers and thundershowers moving northeast in northwest Illinois and southern Wisconsin. That precipitation is steady, but precipitation moving our way near LaSalle County and Kane County has been dissipating so far today (as of 8:55 a.m.).
