The Arlington Heights annual Autumn Harvest event for Saturday, October 6, in North School Park has been cancelled due to the rainy forecast for Saturday. The Village of Arlington Heights apologizes for any inconvenience and reports event organizers look forward to celebrating the Autumn Harvest event next year on the first Saturday in October 2019.

…FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON…
The National Weather Service in Chicago has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of north central Illinois and northeast Illinois, including the following areas, in north central Illinois, DeKalb and La Salle. In northeast Illinois, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake IL, and McHenry.
* From this evening through early Saturday afternoon
* Heavy rain producing thunderstorms are likely over northern IL tonight. Given that numerous thunderstorms may train over the same areas, significant rainfall amounts of 2, to locally 4, inches are possible across portions of northern IL into Saturday morning.
* Expect additional rises on area rivers, particularly the Rock, Pecatonica and Fox River basins. Portions of these rivers are already above flood stage or are close to flood stage and this rainfall will worsen river conditions.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
