A volunteer for the Yavapai County Arizona sheriff’s office has probably saved the life of a dog that was tied to a moving semi-trailer truck. The dog was trying to keep pace with the truck as it headed toward an interstate highway.
On their official Facebook page, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reported that a deputy was at a gas station in Ash Fork, Arizona this month when he saw the truck pulling away from the gas station with a dog leashed to the trailer bumper.
The dog was running, trying to keep pace with the truck as it headed toward an interstate highway. The deputy activated his flashers and siren and the truck driver stopped the truck in time to save the dog from being dragged at higher speeds.
The encounter was captured on the deputy’s dashcam video. Yavapai County is just north of Phoenix, which is in Maricopa County.
The driver stated he was distracted and forgot to unleash his dog. The truck driver faces no charges.
