Illinois State Police responded about 4:00 p.m. Tuesday of a shooting in the southbound lanes near Halsted Street in Chicago. Police were notified of a drive-by shooting involving a Jeep and a black Chevrolet vehicle, according to Illinois State Police.
When Illinois State police investigated the I-57 about 4:00 p.m., they didn’t find anything on I-57 near Halsted Street.
About 4:30 p.m. Chicago police received a report that two gunshot victims had driven themselves to the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, according to state police and Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford. Later, police markers were placed on the southbound shoulder of I-57 near Halsted Street, and were visible from a view from ABC Chopper 7 HD.
The gunshot victims were believed to be the driver and passenger of the black Chevrolet car, which was in motion when the two victims were shot. The two gunshot victims were stabilized at Little Company of Mary Hospital, and then transferred to Stroger Hospital.
Illinois State police are investigating.
