Arlington Heights Police Department K-9 Max will be honored at the Arlington Heights Village Board meeting September 4, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. as he retires after 8 years of service. A Village of Arlington Heights proclamation will be read to acknowledge his career and achievements.
K-9 Max with his partner Police Officer Mike Butler has protected and served the Arlington Heights community with distinction and pride for many years. Max and his partner have attended events, conducted public presentations and demonstrations, and has served apprehending criminals, finding missing persons and locating illegal contraband — not only in Arlington Heights, but in neighboring communities.
Max became the third Arlington Heights Police K-9 to join the unit in September of 2010.
Max, a German Shepard, was born in Hungary on August 21, 2008.
The Village of Arlington Heights wishes Max a long and happy retirement.
Residents are welcome to attend the Village Board Meeting, 33 South Arlington Heights Road, to recognize the service and career of K-9 Max and handler Officer Mike Butler.
