5-ALARM FIRE, 3-ALARM EMS BOX for THE LANDINGS Condominiums Building
Des Plaines police, Cook County Sheriff’s police and North Maine firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:42 AM Sunday September 16, 2018 to a report an Activated Alarm at The Landings, 9396 Landings Lane Des Plaines, Il. The fire was initially reported as an Activated Fire Alarm at 7:42 am. Battalion Chief 1 on arrival reported fire coming from the top floor by 7:45 a.m.

The fire was elevated by 8:03 a.m. to a MABAS Division 3 Box Alarm on Box #1F-121 for a fire in a 6-story condo/apartment building.
The fire was elevated to a 2nd Alarm by 8:31 a.m. a 3rd Alarm by 8:34 a.m., a 4th Alarm at 9:48 a.m. and a 5th Alarm at 10:05 a.m. bringing firefighters from as far away as Lincolnshire, Schaumburg, and Norwood Park.
Firefighters were evacuated from the building about the time of the 5th Alarm (10:05 a.m.) and six crews report PAR (a good Personal Accountability Report) by 10:18 a.m. There was possibly a flare up of fire, but this is not confirmed. Also there was a report of a roof collapse on the east side of the building.
An EMS Box, eventually to the 3rd Level, was requested by 8:59 a.m.
At least one patient, who lives on the 6th floor, was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with injuries that are initially believed to be non-life-threatening.
An early report indicated a total of six people, including one firefighter, were transported to area hospitals. Ambulances from Elk Grove Village, Elk Grove Township, Rosemont, Park Ridge, and Evanston transported patients to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital or Glenbrook Hospital.
