Woman Shot, Killed in Hotel Near Old Orchard Rd and Edens Expresssway I-94, Skokie

Skokie police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:52 p.m. Saturday August 11, 2018 to a report of shots fired and a gunshot victim at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 5201 Old Orchard Road, Skokie.

Skokie Police report that officers had responded to reports of shots fired at the Hampton Inn at about 11:50 p.m. Upon arrival, police found a woman with a gunshot wound. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The woman has not yet been identified, or her identity not initially released. Police have identified several persons of interest in the shooting, but no charges have been filed. At least one male subject was in custody, handcuffed with Cook County Sheriff’s deputies leading him away from scene. Multiple police agencies were on the scene.

Skokie police report they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public, connected to the shooting.
