Illinois State police and Naperville firefighter/paramedics initially responded about 5:56 PM Saturday August 11, 2018 a multiple-injury extrication crash at 41.803598, -88.202603 (Mile Marker 123 EB I-88 Naperville, Il). Reports from the scene are that two vehicles were on fire and six people were injured. Naperville fire command reported three patients classified as Advanced Life Support patients.
An extra alarm for ambulances was activated with a MABAS Division 16 EMS Box Alarm on Box #4M for a multiple-injury extrication crash. At one point there was a summary of three ALS and three BLS patients, which is subject to change, and is not an official report to the public.
Initial investigation shows that the driver of a black Hyundai failed to reduce speed and struck a silver Chrysler. The Hyundai also hit a black Ford Mustang, and both the Hyundai and the Mustang started burning.
Eastbound I-88 was closed with all eastbound traffic exiting at Route 59 and no traffic entering eastbound I-88 from northbound Route 59.
