Zion police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday August 29, 2018 to a report of a shooting in the block of 2500 Hebron Avenue.
Zion police found a 33 year-old North Chicago man with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. He was transported by Zion Fire Department firefighter/paramedics to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan where he was pronounced dead. The man’s identity was not initially released by police.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
The shooter reportedly fled the scene on foot, and no vehicle was initially associated with the shooter. The shooting occurred in a residential neighborhood with a small wooded area and the Robert McClory Bike Path located nearby.
