A week ago Thursday August 16, 2018 a Little Rock Arkansas police helicopter crashed about 11:00 a.m. at 11400 Ironton Cut-Off Road. The 2001 Bell TH-67 helicopter pilot, William Denio, was seriously injured, suffering a head injury.
Local station KARK reported that police initially claimed that “wind blew the helicopter over as the blades were spinning” and that “the helicopter did not leave the ground.” The video footage released five days later showed the helicopter in the air briefly.
The pilot was extricated from the helicopter wreckage. A second person on board the helicopter was not injured.
The Aviation Unit is part of the Special Operations Division of the Little Rock Police Department.
