Police in Sanford, Florida were chasing a female suspect, who was involved in a crash during a pursuit, when some cows joined the pursuit after the suspect entered their pasture. Video from a police helicopter at about 10:22 p.m. on Monday August 6, 2018 showed the encounter in the pasture at the southeast corner of Celery Avenue and Spies Avenue in Sanford, Florida.
A group of cows chased their suspect, while the cows and the suspect were illuminated by a FLIR infrared camera. The suspect eventually climbed through a fence attempting to exit the pasture. The female suspect was soon met by police. The reason for the pursuit was not initially released by police.
Police were concerned for her safety and protection from the cows, but the action of the cows probably helped shorten the pursuit by tiring the suspect and causing her to exit the pasture, instead of hiding for a prolonged period.
