UPDATE …
The heat continues with a Heat Index high of 103°F forecast for about 2:00-3:00 p.m. Dew Points remain in the 70s and a reading of 74°F was recorded at 10:51 a.m. and 11:51 a.m. at O’Hare (Heat Index 97-98).
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) in northeast Illinois is clear at 12:05 p.m. The GOES East satellite image shows clouds approaching near the Mississippi River and smaller clouds over northern Illinois dissipating with the heat of daytime sunlight. Thunderstorms are expected to start developing and passing the Iowa-Illinois border by about 3:00 p.m. All of eastern and central Wisconsin at 12:05 p.m. was activated under a Tornado Watch, in effect from July 1, 12:05 PM CDT until July 1, 07:00 PM CDT
