Palatine police captured a man accused of stabbing a 39-year-old woman in the abdomen Saturday, June 23, 2018 about 7:48 a.m. in the courtyard of Palatine condominium complex Windhaven Condominiums at 5 Dundee Quarter. Police described the stabbing as a domestic incident.
The female stabbing victim was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge by Palatine Fire Department paramedics.
By 9:00 a.m. Palatine police found the 46 year-old male suspect walking less than one-half mile southwest of the crime scene near the intersection of Rand Road and Winslowe Drive. The suspect was initially described as a male/Hispanic, age 40, 5’8″ with a heavy build, gray hair, unshaven with a beard, and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
The male suspect reportedly initially fled in a blue and white taxi cab van. He was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect’s identity was not initially disclosed by police. Also, information about charges were not initially disclosed. The stabbing is under investigation.
