A resident of unincorporated Arlington Heights faces an Aggravated Cruelty to Animals (a Class 4 Felony), accused of a violent and brutal attack of a dog in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Isaac Goodlow, 24, of the block of 4000 Bonhill Drive in unincorporated Arlington Heights in Cook Cook was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
According to the Chicago Police Department, police officers responded about 3:40 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 to a report of a male adult violently kicking, whipping and choking a pit bull in the on Ashland Avenue near 61st Street in the West Englewood neighborhood. At the scene, Goodlow was allegedly seen dragging the dog along a sidewalk by an extension cord wrapped around the dog’s neck.
As he was arrested, Goodlow allegedly told Chicago police officers that he should have killed the dog, and that the beatings were intended to tame the dog. He also asked why police officers were taking the dog.
According to the police report, the emaciated dog was shaking and scared. Chicago police transported the dog to a 24-hour veterinary clinic for treatment, where older injuries were also discovered involving the pit bull.
Goodlow’s next court date was scheduled for Friday, June 29, 2018.
