CBS 2’s Dorothy Tucker reports on back-to-back robberies in the South Loop about 2:00 a.m. Sunday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
In a robbery at 2:00 a.m. Sunday May 13, 2018 near Wabash and 8th Street a victim had a knife put to his neck when two victims — a 16 year-old and a 20 year-old — were walking to their car. The men were approached by two offenders that pointed a gun at them.
In an earlier robbery, a 34 year-old male victim was attacked from behind and robbed by two offenders — one offender held the victim while another searched through the victim’s pockets. The victim’s credit card was immediately used at a BP gas station a short distance away at Wabash and Roosevelt about 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
No injuries were reported in either robbery.
The two male offenders were reported to be age 18-28. Police are investigating whether the two robberies might be connected.
