Barrington Hills police and Barrington Countryside FPD firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:51 PM Friday May 11, 2018 to a report of a bicyclist hit by a vehicle on NB Route 59 near 42.125593, -88.160191 (Route 59 and Route 68 Barrington Hills, Il). A Lake Zurich Fire Rescue chief discovered a bicyclist hit by a vehicle. The bicyclist was found down on the side of the road with life-threatening injuries on northbound Route 59 between Route 62 and Route 68.
UPDATE: Suspect’s vehicle that left the scene of a fatal accident is described as a dark vehicle with front end damage, last seen northbound on Route 59 from Route 62 in Barrington Hills.
UPDATE: Victim identified as Rafal Lukaszryndak of Schiller Park
Expect Route 59 to be shut down between Route 62 and Route 68 starting about 10:27 p.m. and into the early morning hours with an extended accident invesitgation.
The crash also reported on Waze. The crash appears to have occurred about 1000 feet south of the intersection of Old Dundee Road and Route 59/68.
