Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows thunderstorm cells developing and moving northeast especially over the northern half of Kane County at 4:55 p.m. Storm cells are heading directly for Arlington Heights and the northwest suburbs. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued southwest of us, associated with the storm clusters.

This Afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. East southeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Low around 59. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
