Elgin Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:08 p.m. Sunday April 29, 2018 to a report of two people shot in the block of 99 Longwood Place. The appearance of the crime scene suggests that at least one, and maybe both, of the victims suffered gunshots outdoors.
UPDATE: Two shooting victims have died from shots fired on Longwood Place in Elgin Sunday. Elgin police are interviewing two persons of interest during investigation of the shooting.
One of the shooting victims was transported to Presence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elgin. The second gunshot victim was transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, and later transferred to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Detectives from the police Elgin Police Department’s Major Investigation Division are investigating the shooting in the neighborhood of the Garden Quarters Townhomes and Garden Quarter Apartments just northwest of downtown Elgin. There is no danger to the public connected to the shooting, according to the Elgin Police Department.
