Extrication crash at Lake Cook Road and McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove with 10 transported by paramedics to various hospitals.
Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:33 PM Wednesday April 11, 2018 to a report of a crash at McHenry Road and Lake Cook Road Buffalo Grove, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics discovered a crash with a person trapped and eleven people involved in the crash. Arlington Heights Engine 4 was dispatched at 10:38 p.m. as the call was upgraded to an extrication crash. Buffalo Grove Ambulance 26 was dispatched to the scene by 10:41 p.m.
Most people were out of the vehicles when firefighter/paramedics arrived.
A GMC SUV, a passenger van and a sedan were involved in a crash. The GMC SUV had moderate to severe damage at the driver’s side door. The driver of the SUV was trapped in the SUV. The passenger van and sedan both received moderate front-end damage.
The Buffalo Grove Battalion Chief in command requested an EMS Box Alarm, and MABAS EMS Box #99-25 was activated at 10:48 p.m. for an extrication crash involving a van with 11 patients, and one patient trapped.
The patient in the SUV was extricated by 10:54 p.m. and transported by Ambulance 26’s crew — classified as a Code Red patient.
The EMS Box Alarm was struck out at 11:18 p.m. A total of 10 patients were transported to various hospitals. One person refused transportation to a hospital.
