Windy from 3 AM Saturday until 3 AM Sunday is the weather headline for Arlington Heights and neighboring suburbs. There will be a dusting of snow from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday.
Heavy snow is forecast southwest of Chicagoland, where there is a Winter Storm Warning area. Deep accumulations of
wet snow (5″+) are likely. The deep snow is expected southwest of a line from near Dixon southeastward through Marseilles to Paxton. These areas are expected to experience periods of moderate to heavy wet snow late tonight through at least mid to late afternoon on Saturday. The snow should begin to tapper off over the area later Saturday afternoon into the early evening as the main mid-level wave shifts over the area.
Snow to occur across parts of northern & central Illinois into western Indiana later tonight and Saturday. This late season snow will be wet and heavy, and can become a health risk to shovel.
