A look at accusations against the former FBI deputy director that led to his firing and whether his dismissal was justified. McCabe was actually fired by US Attorney General Jeff Sessions, not President Donald Trump.
FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe leaked classified information and lied under oath. Some politicians and media sources are outraged that he was fired? Do these critics represent a pro-corruption platform?
Andrew George McCabe served as the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from February 2016 to January 2018, and was fired by US Attorney General Jeff Sessions on March 16, 2018.
Andrew McCabe was questioned as part of a wide-ranging internal inquiry into the FBI’s handling of the Clinton investigation and related complexities. Andrew McCabe was accused of failure to be forthcoming with investigators about an “unauthorized disclosure to the news media.”
On March 14, 2018, the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) recommended that McCabe be fired for misleading investigators about his decision to allow FBI officials to give information about the Clinton Foundation investigation to the media.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said, Mr. McCabe “lacked candor — including under oath — on multiple occasions.” US Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that career, apolitical employees at the FBI and Justice Department agreed that Andrew McCabe should be fired.
When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history. You may scapegoat Andy McCabe, but you will not destroy America…America will triumph over you. https://t.co/uKppoDbduj
