WINTER STORM WARNING FOR MOST OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS
Central Arlington Heights has 1.5″ of snow accumulation at 11:00 p.m. Another 1″ of snowfall is expected by midnight Thursday/Friday during a Winter Storm Warning for Chicagoland with highest intensity between Thursday 6 PM and Friday 9 AM. The remainder of the system’s snowfall is forecast to bring an additional 9.5″ accumulation by 12 noon Friday.
UPDATE: 4.5″ of new snow on ground in Arlington Heights at 6 AM.
A total of 12″ (1.5″ + 1″ + 9.5″) snow accumulation is forecast for Thursday and early Friday.
Light snow will continue Friday, Friday night, and Saturday with a boost in intensity Saturday morning and an additional accumulation of about 2.1″ by noon Saturday.
Combining Thursday/Friday with Saturday could bring a total of at least 14″ of new snow by Saturday at noon.
An addition 1″ of new snow from midnight Saturday/Sunday to 11 AM Sunday could bring the total accumulation from Thursday night to late Sunday morning to 15″ of new snow.
