“PNEUMONIA FRONT” NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN THIS AFTERNOON, UNCERTAIN TOTAL OF SNOW ACCUMULATION, RANGING 1″ TO 9″ THURSDAY AFTERNOON
Cooler air is sliding in from Lake Michigan, while the cold front aligned to the to the west along a line from Milwaukee to Madison to Platteville, Wisconsin. Temperatures in Arlington Heights are expected to drop between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday February 28, 2018. The temperatures in the area were around 58°F about noon, but by 12:30 p.m. air temperatures were about 51°F in an near Arlington Heights. Temperatures closer to Lake Michigan will crash to the 30s.

holding at about 37°F to 38°F overnight when the high temperature will be recorded for Thursday March 1, 2018. Thursday temperatures are forecast to hold at about 34°F from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Some drizzle or spotty light may begin about 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (Today), but the more significant rain will begin about 9:00 p.m. with a good soaking rain beginning about midnight Wednesday/Thursday and lasting until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, when rain is expected to change to wet snow.

Tonight: Periods of rain, mainly after 9pm. Areas of dense fog. Low around 36. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday: Rain before noon, then rain likely, possibly mixed with snow between noon and 1pm, then snow likely after 1pm. Some thunder is also possible. Temperature falling to around 34 by 11am.
