Nikolas Cruz had no gas grenades, and the shooter was not wearing a gas mask when he entered and was inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, as has been reported by several media sources. Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel made this clear in a press conference about 4:20 p.m. ET in Parkland, Florida.
The gas mask and gas grenade connection was NOT reported on Arlingtoncardinal.com.

Also at the press conference, it was confirmed that the FBI has determined that protocol was not followed after a tip was presented to the FBI in January 2017, according to FBI spokesman
and Special Agent Robert Lasky.
Earlier in the day, Florida Gov. Rick Scott said that FBI Director Christopher A. Wray should step down and that the FBI’s failure to act on the tip about Mr. Cruz was “unacceptable.”
“Seventeen innocent people are dead and acknowledging a mistake isn’t going to cut it. The F.B.I. Director needs to resign.”
