Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:50 AM Saturday February 17, 2018 to a report of a fire in a kitchen at The Residences apartments, 543 East Seeger Road Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a fire in a kitchen in an apartment — possibly with paper burning on the floor. The caller reported the apartment was filling up with smoke.
Engine 3’s on arrival reported a 2-story multi-family residential building with nothing showing from two sides.
Engine 3’s crew reported entering the apartment with a pre-connect line through the patio door by 6:58 a.m.
Mount Prospect Engine 12’s crew assigned to pull out a backup line to the patio door.
Engine 3’s crew reported the fire is out by 7:02 a.m.
Firefighters were setting up positive ventilation by 7:02 a.m.
A fire investigator and Arlington Heights Building Department inspector were requested to respond to the scene.
Primary search complete and negative by 7:12 AM.
