Lake Villa police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:33 AM Monday January 15, 2018 to a report of a house fire at 37483 North Route 59 Lake Villa, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a house fire with flames showing from the neighbor’s house, and with two people possibly still in the house. In fact, three people escaped the house.
Engine 244’s crew on arrival reported a fully-involved house fire by 1:37 am. Fire was showing out of every window at the front of the house.
Initially, two patients were met by Ambulance 243 paramedics for assessment by 1:43 a.m. A woman suffered smoke inhalation and burns. Two male victims suffered smoke inhalation.
A second ambulance was requested by 1:50 a.m., and the three patients were transported by paramedics to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The fire possibly started in the basement, underneath the location where the first floor collapsed in to the basement.
Firefighters from Countryside, Fox River Grove, Grayslake, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Nunda, and Round Lake assisted Wauconda firefighters.
Wauconda firefighters also responded back to the scene about 7:47 a.m. Monday morning to extinguish some hot spots that re-kindled at the scene.
