Garage Fire on Bobwhite Lane Between Route 53 Frontage Rd and Owl Dr, Rolling Meadow

Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:18 PM Wednesday January 3, 2018 to a report of a garage fire with exposures, 3603 Bobwhite Lane Rolling Meadows, Il. Police first on scene reported smoke in the garage.

Battalion Chief15 on arrival reported a garage fire heavily involved with flames close to a 2-story residence.

Tower Ladder 85’s crew was assigned to the primary search of the 2-story residence in front of the garage and a residence and garage to the south of the garage by 5:28 p.m.

Firefighters at the back of the garage reported a possible propane tank or other flammable tank burning at the back side of the garage.

Engine 16’s crew parked on Frontage Road in front of the house behind the burning garage — the next street to the west.

The fire was declared out by 5:44 PM. Firefighters apparently did not have any problems getting a water source in near zero weather.

Air temperature at the time of the fire was about 2°F with winds from the northwest at 10-18 mph.
