Arlington Heights police responded about 7:40 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2017 and apprehended one person, apparently in custody. According to a witness, about six or more police officers were carrying one subject face down with several police units on the scene, and flares up near the railroad tracks.
Police vehicles lined up along the right lane of eastbound Northwest Highway near Walnut/Ridge Avenue. Several police vehicles were parked in random directions — apparently arriving from multiple directions.
A second witness reported the incident began near Memorial Park, just notheast of Northwest Highway and Ridge/Walnut Avenue.
Late Tuesday night, Arlington Heights police would not release any information about the case. Based on the description, the subject in Arlington Heights is not believed to be the carjacking suspect Leon Spektor from Wheeling’s carjacking Sunday afternoon, November 12, 2017.
The Arlington Heights subject was described as a male with a medium to large build with medium brown hair.
Wheeling police late Tuesday night would not confirm or deny whether they had Leon Spektor in custody.
