Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:29 AM Tuesday November 7, 2017 to a report of two subjects with guns at Woodfield Corporate Center, 200 North Martingale Road Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that two subjects were with guns, and are searching the building.
UPDATE: Schaumburg police responded about 10:50 a.m. Tuesday to a report of two men with guns. Police later reported that there was no indication that shots were fired, no firearm was found, and police say no one was injured. Police reviews video surveillance, and confirmed that the original report was incorrect. Schaumburg police say there was no threat.
The building is in lockdown with shelter in place in effect.
Firefighter/paramedics also responded to the scene for an emergency medical call inside the building. They are attempting to access the patient during the lockdown.
Fire department staging was released from the scene at 12:20 p.m. The incident may be resolved, but no specific information is available at 12:20 p.m.
A Facebook comment on Cardinal Emergencies reported at 12:27 p.m. that “some guys were there doing some construction, and someone mistook their tools for a gun and called the police. The lockdown was lifted.” Another Facebook comment reported that elevator technicians were carrying equipment that was mistaken for guns.
