The worker got out with the help of coworkers as firefighters arrived at the residential trenching job site. Responding TRTs for the below grade rescue were held up, and most firefighters returned by 4:30 pm. Firefighters announced that the worker “self extricated.”
The worker was evaluated by paramedics immediately after he escaped the below grade environment. He was transported to Northwest Community Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
