Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:15 AM Friday November 17, 2017 to a report of a car vs traffic signal/pole crash with injuries and a vehicle fire, Arlington Heights Rd and University Dr Arlington Heights, Il. Police, first on arrival reported, one man injured, then reported the vehicle was on fire.
A traffic signal was partially down. Repairs involved lane closures down to one lane near the intersection.
The morning commute was affected, and the Village of Arlington Heights posted alerts via social media regarding long delays expected in the area. The first village alert advised commuters to avoid the area at 7:44 a.m.
The area was cleared by 8:30 a.m.
