Based on consumer app usage, Localytics runs a mobile engagement platform across 2.7 billion devices and 37,000 mobile and web apps. Localytics says it examined over 70 million iOS devices, and discovered 0.93 percent iPhone X market share, ahead of the 0.7 share iPhone 8 models in their first weekend.
The Apple iPhone X market share is lower than the 2.3 share reached by iPhone 6 models in their first weekend in 2014, the 1.3 percent share reached by the iPhone 6S models in 2015; and the 1.2 percent share of the iPhone 7 models in 2016.
Meanwhile, Israeli company Corephotonics filed a lawsuit against Apple Monday November 6, 2017. Corephotonics, a maker of dual lens camera technology, claims that the cameras equipping the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus infringe on four of its patents.
Corephotonics claims Apple infringed two patents on mini telephoto lens assembly, one patent on dual aperture zoom digital cameras, and one on high resolution thin multi-aperture imaging systems. Corephotonics claims purchasers of the two Apple phones are also infringing the patents as well. The iPhone X was not included in the claim.
