Chicago police have released four of five surveillance images of the suspected robbers who attacked a Northwestern University student on Sunday in Streeterville at Superior Street and Fairbanks Court near Northwestern University and Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Chicago police have released images of four of five suspects in an Armed Robbery at Superior Street and Fairbanks Court Sunday night, October 8, 2017.
Chicago police responded about 8:00 p.m. Sunday October 8, 2017 to a report of an armed robbery that just occurred at at Superior Street and Fairbanks Court.
A Northwestern University law student was approached by three men and two women near the intersection of Superior Street and Fairbanks Court near the Olson Pavilion and the Feinberg School of Medicine. The individuals physically assaulted the student, and took his laptop computer and cellphone.
A witness activated an emergency call box, notified police and then walked the student to nearby Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he received medical treatment.
Northwestern University issued a security alert after the report of the robbery on the Chicago campus. The Northwestern Police Department is located about one block west of the incident location on the first level of a large parking garage.
The suspects fled on foot, and police searched the area, but did not find any of the suspects.
The suspects are described as …
• a male 5’4″ wearing white pants, a white long-sleeved shirt and a dark jacket tied around his neck,
• two men about 5’6″ and wearing dark clothing.
A description of the two females was not available.
The robbery was not listed on the official website for Northwestern University’s University Police Department of Safety and Security as of Tuesday morning October 10, 2017 at 5:00 a.m.

Two other robberies have been reported in the area recently.
SEPTEMBER 27, 2017
Recently, a Northwestern University female faculty member was the victim of a robbery in the Erie Street parking garage on the Chicago campus. At approximately 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the faculty member was walking on the ninth floor of the garage, 321 East Erie Street, when three offenders pushed the faculty member to the ground and took a cellphone.
The faculty member reported a minor injury to her elbow.
A video camera captured images of the offenders.
The suspects were described as …
#1) a male teenager with short dreadlocks, wearing a long-sleeved, gray T-shirt and dark-colored gym shoes and carrying a dark-colored backpack,
#2) a male teenager wearing a white T-shirt, camouflage pants and gray gym shoes, and
#3) a male teenager wearing a long-sleeved black hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and white gym shoes.
Skin color, race, complexion or hair color information was not provided regarding either crime.
OCTOBER 10, 2017
Chicago police and Northwestern University police responded about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday October 10, 2017 to a report of a strong arm robbery in a parking garage at 222 East Huron Street.
Police received a report that a female victim entered an elevator in the parking garage when two men were already in the elevator. When the woman exited on the 8th floor, one of them tried to take her cellphone out of her hand. She tried to hold onto the phone but the second person pushed her out of the elevator. The offenders remained in the elevator with her phone, officials said.
The woman suffered a scraped knee.
The offenders were described as …
#1) a black male in his teens with short dreadlocks, a light complexion, wearing a tan sweater and jeans, and
#2) a black male in his teens, tall, thin, with a dark complexion, wearing a blue plaid shirt and jeans.
Police searched the area, but no suspects were found.
The female victim was not affiliated with Northwestern University.
