The Chicago Blackhawks announced Wednesday October 4, 2017 that they sold exclusive naming rights for their privately funded practice facility to MB Financial Bank.
The new arena will house 2 NHL-sized rinks, 22 locker rooms, medical and rehab facilities, fitness training centers and a media center.
The public recreational component is expected to account for 94 percent of the facility’s use, and was a key condition to MB’s sponsorship.
The 125,000 square foot arena is set to open in late November or December 2017 at a former site of Malcolm X College at or near 1900 West Jackson Boulevard, two blocks south of the United Center.
