Flight for Life Landing Zone at Tefft Middle School for crash on Irving Park Road, Streamwood.
Streamwood police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:58 AM Tuesday October 3, 2017 to a report of a pickup truck crash with entrapment, Irving Park Road and Alexander Avenue Streamwood, Il. Police were first on the scene and reported a man with his legs trapped.
Engine 31’s crew on arrival reported a man inside a pickup truck that was off the road into a fence. The crew reported a man was trapped with his legs under the dashboard. Engine 31’s crew was going to work on extrication. The crash was located on the north side of Irving Park Road, just east of Alexander Avenue.
Flight for Life was requested and a second ambulance were requested to the scene by 4:09 a.m.
The patient was extricated and the Flight for Life helicopter was on scene by about 4:48 a.m. The helicopter landed in the west school yard in the northwest corner of the school property.
The patient was transported by Flight for Life to Level I Trauma Center in Park Ridge.
