Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:26 PM Wednesday October 11, 2017 to a report of a crash into a building with injuries, Huron Street and St Clair Street Chicago, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a crash occurred in the Parking Garage South in the southeast corner on the top floor.
Engine 42 and Truck 6 were first on the scene. Engine 42’s crew on arrival reported nothing showing from street level by 1:28 PM.
Battalion Chief 1 reported the crashed car went through a breezeway, hit a wall, and hit an elevator on the top floor of the parking garage.
No people were pinned in by the crash. The Battalion Chief held up the pin-in response, but requested an ambulance continue in to the scene. Ambulance 11 was already on the scene.
The crash follows a lot of nearby trouble in the Streeterville neighborhood. Three robberies have occurred in or near parking garages nearby in the past two weeks.
