Des Plaines police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:40 AM Monday October 9, 2017 to a report of a fire at an apartment building, 1480 Jefferson Street Des Plaines, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a fire on the sixth floor.
Police on the scene reported a fire on the sixth floor.
Battalion Chief 61 reported nothing showing from the A B C or D sides at a large 6-story multi-family.
Battalion 61 on arrival reported a working fire on the sixth floor.
BC61 reported the fire is out by 11:53 AM, and downgraded the Code 4 (working fire response).
There were no initial reports of injuries.
Ventilation on the sixth floor was completed by 12:05 p.m. and the alarm was reset by 12:05 p.m. All stairwells were search and clear of smoke and/or any victims by 12:05 p.m.
