Naperville police responded about 9:49 AM Monday September 18, 2017 to to a home invasion and domestic violence incident at a townhouse near White Thorn Circle and Sheehan Drive Naperville, IL. Police also described an “aggravated battery to a police officer” related to the case but the nature of the battery was initially unknown. The crime scene location is a townhouse subdivision, which is just northeast of Route 59 and 95th Street.
The suspect was described as a male/black, last seen northbound from the location, driving a maroon 2006 Nissan Murano. The suspect was reported armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. Police announced the suspect was apprehended in Villa Park and in custody by 1:35 p.m. Monday.
Naperville firefighter/paramedics were dispatched to the scene about 9:49 a.m., but initially it was unknown why they were called to the scene; or whether a suspect, citizen or police officer was injured.
The Neuqua Valley High School, about one mile southeast of the crime scene, was secured by about 11:50 a.m. while police searched for the suspect. The Neuqua Valley High School resumed normal campus operations by 12:50 p.m.
